This machine is up for sale to someone who desires to travel to wherever you point it. Day in and day out you can't ask for a more reliable machine than Kawasaki's KLR 650. It's Bacon and Eggs simple and in the opinion of thousands of aficionados you cant go wrong with the KLR. Yes, the photos show that she has been out in the bush. Yes, there is dirt and dust and grime that she collects on her body work. Yes, there is a ding or two on the panniers and bash plate where she was ambushed by rocks. But all in all, this example is in pretty fine shape at just 16,325 miles.

The bike is bone stock with the exception of the following "add ons" after I purchased her from the first owner in 2011:
1.) Happy Trail pannier frame work and panniers
2.) Happy Trail bash plate
3.) Happy Trail fork stabilizers
4.) Happy Trail Engine Guards
5.) Hot Grips heated handle bar grips. Lo and Hi settings and they work wonderfully.
6.) Madstad Engineering adjustable windshield with Madstad mounting system.
7.)Two 12 volt sockets mounted on Happy Trail dash panel
8.) 7.5 amp and 15 amp hard wired SAE sockets for battery tender, etc.
9.) Iron Rider Tail Pack
10.) Drive and Driven sprocket and Chain have about 3000 miles on them. Drive sprocket is now a 16 tooth (OEM sprocket is a 15 tooth). The 16 allows the bike to roll down the highway at lower rpm at highway speeds and works well at low speeds off road. More serious off-road riding requires a 15 tooth drive sprocket.

Check out the the Tire photos. She wears Mefo Explorers. These have 4000 miles on them and I reckon they will see another 1,500 before requiring a change out. It's a great tire that has been highly productive on and offload. Great grip on road then drop the pressure from 36/42 psi (front and rear, on road) to 24/30 psi off the tarmac to inspire your confidence even more.

Blacked out windscreen has been replaced by a new smoked Madstad Engineering screen in August.

Yep the left pannier has been bashed in on a trip to the Oregon desert in April. Steep incline and rocky on a twin track and smacked it on a rock while negotiating the climb.

Honestly, she has been spilled about a half dozen times from in the garage to off-road travel all at low speed or no speed and whatever Dual Sport bike you purchase you should expect it to happen to you also. All plastics were protected by engine guards, panniers, and bash plate.

Reason for selling: I have a 2011 KLR waiting in the wings and I couldn't refuse the offer!
